The Isis Award
The Wise Women Foundation honors women in our community for their service to the healing arts. Community outreach is particularly valued within our organization. Through outreach efforts folks in need receive healing, education and support in reaching their own full potential. Every year we acknowledge a wise woman for her outstanding community service efforts through our Isis Award. Named after the Egyptian Goddess known as the "Queen of the Healers."
2006 ISIS AWARD
Reverend Santa (CanteWi) Molina
The 2006 Isis Award recipient Rev. CanteWi Molina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Massage Therapist, Psychotherapist, Counselor, Yoga Instructor—and well, an all-around wise woman! Her practice, Circle of Light Holistic Health and Interfaith Ministerial Services is based in Upper Marlboro, MD where she has brought education and awareness about holistic living to her community through her classes and programs.
Rev. Molina is a charter member of the Wise Women Web professional network—joining at its early inception just over two years ago. She has represented the Wise Women Foundation for the past two years as a workshop presenter at the Montgomery County Women’s Fair educating women about holistic stress relief practices in their everyday lives.
CanteWi is especially being honored for her community service last summer/fall reaching out to work with the Louisiana Network. This network helped to house, feed and clothe displaced families from hurricane Katrina—CanteWi recognized the need for healing not only for the displaced families, but for those that were supporting others. She set out to organize community healers and businesses to donate their services—and in the process overcame cultural road-blocks, found respectable, approachable ways to offer healing and support and bridged religious gaps—ultimately she was successful! Many families benefited from her outreach—a couple of the women from the Louisiana Network were gifted with retreat packages from Wise Women Foundation—our lives were deeply enriched by their presence and hopefully, theirs by our presence.
