Independence Reflecting on my
independence this 4th of July weekend, I found myself appreciating
the ways in which I am supported inter-dependently to be the best I
can be in-dependently. Independence is sacred, strong and powerful; it
is the unspoken, underlying goal of every American; and despite the
individual-sense of the word, it is rarely, if ever, achieved by one’s self. In fact, the best
success stories that resulted in powerful independence required the
support and resources of a group of people to be accomplished. A congregation
may come together in spiritual worship but each member is fulfilling their
individual need for faith and strength. A team of the world’s greatest
individual gymnasts is needed to win the gold in Athens this summer. A
construction crew provides the roadways for us to zip our individual
cars down. And a nation of people with clarity of vision and
conviction of principle gave birth to the United States of America and
the possibility of an individual’s independence. In America, we celebrate and praise the melting
pot of our colors, faiths and traditions as our individual God-granted
rights; and simultaneously we drop our individual needs to join forces with
others to create something that is a higher good for all. Joining energy, time and resources for a
greater accomplishment is what communities do when they gather. There
are a variety of communities and related goals in this country, let alone the
world, all of whom rely on participation from other individuals to be
successful, i.e. to become independent. Great social and economic
changes are made when communities come together for a common goal. Wise Women Foundation
is based on this principle of supporting women in achieving their
dreams-their independence, through relating inter-dependently.
It is in the exchange of energy, information, resources and time that we
weave a Web strong enough to support our individual goals and our community
healing and growth. We rely on the participation of women to achieve success
in our vision. In fact, the success of Wise Women is entirely dependent
on the participation of others. This fall Wise Women Foundation
invites women to participate in our community. We invite you as a
consumer of mind, body, spirit products and services to join the Wise
Women Web, take advantage of the discounts offered, and discover new
therapies and therapists that support your healing. If you are a healing arts
professional we invite you to join the Wise Women Web as a
sponsoring business and enjoy advertising exposure, member-only benefits and
discounts. We are also seeking volunteer community coordinators-women who can
devote a few hours each month to support a Success Series in their
area. There are many ways to support our community, please connect with us
about your interest. America, acting as perhaps the world’s most
influential community in history, accomplished what many critics thought
could never happen-Independence. A success achieved only through our inter-dependence
and the ability to pull together for a common goal. We achieve our greatest
independence-our dreams, manifest when we come together in inter-dependence. Many Blessings, Shawn “Kya” Supers, Founder & Director Healing With Love Music evokes a mood, a feeling; it recalls a sensation. Our favorite summertime songs make us feel happy, strong, and bright like the sunshine. A classical piece may draw out our passion for life and appreciation of the beauty of orchestration. Music, therefore, can also generate Love. Instruments create a sound, or vibration, when played; it is that vibration that produces the mood, feeling or sensation that we experience when listening to music. Different types of music correspond vibrationally to our chakras (energy centers). For instance, hip-hop music, with its strong bass lines, stimulates the lower chakras, encouraging people to move their hips and dance. According to Tom Kenyon, world-renowned sound scientist, Love carries a specific vibrational-frequency that can be generated through sound using the voice and instruments. The musician must, however, produce the music with a loving intention. An instrument played without love, will not produce a loving vibrational-frequency of itself. (For more information on this see The Ghandarva Experience CD by Tom Kenyon). In “Healing With Love,” the debut CD by local artist Nazeeha Howard, you know immediately that the music was inspired, recorded, and produced with nothing but Love. Ms. Howard is a Registered Music Therapist (RMT) that provides music therapy to cancer patients, dually-diagnosed and mental illness patients, seniors, and children, witnessing first-hand the healing effects of music. She incorporates instruments from around the world to create a healing sound temple in “Healing With Love.” Each instrument serves to activate the body’s different chakras. The various harps are tuned to the lower, middle and upper chakras; so, too, are the crystal bowls. Flutes, chimes, and gongs round out the recording, creating a sacred sound environment for the listener. The first track, The Invocation, establishes a Universal, Sacred Space calling on the Divine Mother/Father, the Four Directions, and Ascended Masters. Perfect for sacred ceremony, meditation, or yoga, the remainder of the CD is instrumental, allowing the music to take you on your own sacred journey. “Healing With Love” supports your relaxation, release, and rejuvenation. I enjoy listening to it in the morning while preparing for my day. Others will find the relaxing quality of the music a gentle way to fall asleep. All will experience healing. “Healing With Love” is a wonderful gift for loved ones in need of healing, for family and friends, and for yourself!
